Get ready for a soulful revolution of love with Festival circuit favourites Gypsy Soldiers at #AgnesBluesFest 2023.
With singer songwriters and multi-instrumentalists Patrick Gill and Natasha Hardiman at the beating heart of their unique, magical energy, Gypsy Soldiers revolve from duo to full band format, joined on stage this year by Sharon Vanderberg, Timmy Way, Bruce Murray and Lindsay Crowley. Based in Mackay, all current members of the band met at one of the many thriving jam sessions in the Mackay region.
Combining all of their unique talents and authentic sound on stage brings an energetic, tight, heart thumping sound and theatrics to connect with every audience. With a mixture of many different influences, they find their sound is constantly changing and they love the classics. They love to put their own twist on covers and also perform many originals written from a collaboration of life experiences and nonsense.
The band’s original music can be likened to Kings of Leon, Rolling Stones and Janis Joplin. Their music crosses over genres and generations with a diverse audience being able to relate to the lyrics and music.
Releasing an EP in 2018, Gypsy Soldiers won the Wintermoon Festival Songwriting Competition that year and were invited to be delegates at the 2019 AMWA Awards. Among many Festivals, events and venues, they’ve rocked the Airlie Beach Festival of Music, Wintermoon Festival, Winton Outback Festival, #AgnesBluesFest, Daydream Island, Mackay’s G&S Food & Wine Festival, Reef Festival, Springfest, Rollingstone County Rockin’ Blues Festival and the Toowoomba and Kinchant Dam Country Rockin’ Shindigs.
Gypsy Soldiers have supported Shannon Noll, Sneaky Sound System, Kate Ceberano, Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols), Leo Sayer, Ross Wilson, Black Sorrows, Dragon, Bondi Cigars, Toni Childs, Phil Emmanuel, Diana Anaid, Karise Eden, Mental as Anything, The Dreggs, Sticky Fingers, Tones and I, Busby Marou, James Blundell, Mahalia Barnes, Jimmy Barnes and Sarah Mcleod.
