Accomplished guitarist/singer-songwriter Dean Haitani will be getting funky on the #AgnesBluesFest Discovery Stage in 2024. With a unique finger style and soulful, earthy vocals, Dean Haitani draws inspiration from roots music and a love of funk and old school R&B rhythms.
Stylistically, Dean’s music is roots, a real melting pot of funky rhythms, jazzy influenced progressions, folk subtleties, country flavours and blues grit. His unique sound comes from his experimentation and his ability to cross many musical genres. He has honed the acoustic and electric guitar craft and his dynamic live performances comprise foot percussion, a variety of guitars, vocals and harmonica.
Dean has toured the US, UK, NZ & Europe over the last 28 years and is currently touring and promoting his 15th studio album ‘Red Dust’. This latest release was recorded and produced by Nicky Bomba and Robin Mai (Black Sorrows and others) and reached #1 on the ABARAC Charts.
Over the course of more than 25 years, Dean Haitani has evolved, developed and challenged himself as a musician. His music is contemporary, forever pushing the musical envelope. His stories are from his heart and mind with compassion for humanity.
“I always try to look at the world in a positive way with all its marvels & flaws,” says Dean.
