An Irish born Folk/Blues & Roots artist, Joe Man Murphy now calls Australia home and is beloved of many in the Australian Folk Festival community. Music for Joe is an addiction and a way of life, sharing his Irish roots blended with an Australian experience.
A true singer/songwriter and storyteller, Joe draws on 20 years of performing and touring the world in must-see stage shows. Like all Irish performers, his stories are often hilarious, based on real life events and lead into well-crafted, world-class songs; leaving audiences feeling connected and wanting to know more.
As a songwriter, Joe brings his gathered stories to life on guitar, ukulele and banjo with charming vocals in his solo shows. A multi-instrumentalist, he captivates audiences with stories from a life well lived accompanied by a thumping sound and guitar wizardry.
Joe Man Murphy has performed at the National Folk Festival, Adelaide Fringe, Tablelands Festival and Majors Creek Festival, to name a few. He also performs with Festival fave Adelaide band The Timbers and penned songs on their last two albums.
