One-man dynamo Jackson Dunn (aka ‘El Mariachi’) will be packing a big punch on the #AgnesBluesFest
Discovery Stage in February 2023.
In a life spent on the road, this touring machine leaves no stone unturned in a quest to share his unique
style of guitar work. With lightning-speed strumming, beer bottle slide guitar and thumping foot-stomp,
Jackson’s shows are an unmissable, visceral experience.
According to Australian Blues Legend Nathan Cavaleri, who Jackson has supported on stage ‘the soul can’t be anywhere else when you’re at a Jackson Dunn gig – it’s high energy roots all the way’.
A twice-nominated Gold Coast Musician of the Year finalist in 2020 and 2021, Jackson has also supported the John Butler Trio, Jack Johnson, Jebediah, Dallas Frasca, Regurgitator and Clare Bowditch and performed at many high profile events including Byron Bluesfest, Blues on Broadbeach, Caloundra Music Festival, Airlie Beach Festival of Music, Brisbane Festival, MOJO Burning and Red Deer Music Festival, to name just a few.
In Central Queensland he has ignited stages at the Rockhampton River Festival, Lighthouse Rock Festival in Bundaberg, El Grande Festival in Gladstone and most recently the inaugural Strum Festival at Captain Creek for which he was a driving force.
Jackson’s music has featured on a number of surf film soundtracks including “Wanderjah” for Billabong. He was ranked Number 1 in 2009 for Triple J Unearthed’s Blues & Roots Category and one of his singles and film clips was voted number 1 in Australia for Channel V: Channel U..
