EARTHY EXPERIENCE: SOAR WITH SOULFUL STU #AGNESBLUESFEST 2025

Get ready for an earthy experience, embraced by the soulful sounds of Stu Harcourt who is set to soar for the first time at the Agnes Blues Roots & Rock Festival in February 2025.

Stu Harcourt has been a solo touring artist for over 3 decades, performing all over Australia and internationally. During that time, he has amassed 10 releases to his credit. Stu’s toasty warm vocals and at times burning guitar work are all grounded with some soulful didgeridoo, creating an earthy experience in good humour as he embraces life through music.

Stu‘s musical journey has been life-long, from early years being captivated by the record player at the family home and then picking up the guitar at age 11.

Stu‘s musical journey has been life-long, from early years being captivated by the record player at the family home and then picking up the guitar at age 11. Stu has been dedicated to live performance and production for over 30 years. In addition to producing 10 solo EPs/albums, his latest album, the 2021 release “Patio Of Life” was written across 2020 while in Covid 19 restrictions. Working with renowned engineer Robin Mai (John Butler Trio, Paul Kelly, Joe Camilleri, Gurrumul, Nick Cave) Stu brought 12 songs into the light over 7 focused days to create the vibe that he wanted at Nicky Bomba’s Treehouse Studio in the mountains of North-Eastern Victoria. Nicky Bomba played drums on the album, with Stu’s long-time friend Jim Cowie on violin.

Stu has been a travelling musician for the most part of the last 20 years or so. His 20’s saw him based in Toronto, Canada playing the scene there; backpacking, busking and performing around Europe, and studying music in LA at Guitar Institute of Technology. He journeyed while continuously learning his craft of guitar and songwriting. His 2012 release “Elements” was a dream come true, recorded at LAFX, one of LA’s top recording studios in North Hollywood.

After performing regularly in his home town of Melbourne and the East Coast, in 2011 Stu hit the road bound for Western Australia. This was meant to be a 6-month tour, but ultimately forged him into a non-stop touring artist.

Bouncing across Australia from Margaret River, Broome, the Kimberley, Arnhem Land, Far North Queensland to Byron Bay, Tasmania and everywhere in between, Stu has also played Ski season in Japan 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019 and retained residencies at Ayers Rock Resort, Home Valley Station WA and El Questro Station WA

‘Music can take you anywhere, and the people and places will inspire…’ says Stu.

Stu’s husky, sometimes soaring vocals, earthy lyrics, accomplished guitar work and acoustic grooves featuring the depth and colours of didgeridoo have continued to delight audiences around Australia and across the World.

Get set to soar with the soulful sounds of Stu Harcourt on the #AgnesBluesFest Discovery Stage Friday 21 February and the Marquee Stage Saturday 22 February 2025. This will be an earthy, heart-warming experience in humour and music on the patio of life that you’ll never forget.
