BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Agnes Blues, Roots & Rock Festival is held annually in February, encouraging blues and roots fanatics to travel to Agnes Water / Town of 1770 (Seventeen Seventy) and immerse themselves in the tunes and the delights of the destination. The festival is a major regional event to help the local economy, and we urge the entire community to get behind the event, the promotion of it and to all have a truly fun festival.
Event organisers, Discovery Coast Tourism & Commerce Inc (DCTC) are a non profit, local business organisation, established in 2001 to promote and develop tourism and economic activity for Discovery Coast businesses to grow and prosper.
DCTC took on the role of organising the Agnes Blues, Roots & Rock Festival at the end of 2014 from previous the organisers, Gladstone Regional Council. The previous Festivals presented by DCTC were very successful events with popular acts like Russell Morris, Kevin Borich, 8 Ball Aitken, The Mason Rack Band, Urban Chiefs, The Hillbilly Goats and many other great artists.
